CCF to Offer Free Tax Preparation to Northern Rhode Island Families:

CCF will be reopening its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site in Woonsocket. The VITA program provides free tax preparation services for families with income less than $55,000. Tax preparers are trained and certified by the IRS to complete both federal and state tax returns. This free service will begin Tuesday, January 22 at CCF's headquarters at 46 Hope Street in Woonsocket. VITA services will be available Mondays - Fridays from 9:00AM to 3:00PM and Friday nights from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.

"The VITA program provides an invaluable resource to our community by offering free tax counseling and tax return preparation," shared Terese Curtin, Executive Director of CCF. "Last year, our site brought almost $2 million back to our community through federal and state refunds. This year we hope to connect even more of our neighbors with this important service."
