Connecting for Children and Families (CCF) is seeking part-time AmeriCorps members for the September 2016 – August 2017 service year in the Generations of Learning program. We are looking for a variety of ages, all at least 18 years of age. The program is meant to provide the children with a wide range of generations to aid in their learning and enrichment, while also providing life experiences between the generations of the AmeriCorps members involved. Connecting for Children and Families (CCF) seeks a Family Engagement Coordinator that will serve as a liaison between the school administrators, faculty, staff, students’ parents and 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) initiative. This key position will improve communication between the school and the students’ families; promote parent engagement in their children’s education; and to encourage greater community involvement in the school. This is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule. Responsibilities will include coordinating family events/workshops during the evenings or weekends and participating in the schools PTO, School Improvement Team, School Committee meetings, and other appropriate committees. Provide enrichment programming for the afterschool program to better form relationships with the children as an entry to meeting their parents. Our ultimate goal is to assist parents in becoming more involved with their children’s education and to promote a sense of community. Federal Work Study students receive employment opportunities as part of a partnership between CCF and local colleges/universities.
CCF provides internship opportunities for high school and college students through our Service Learning Program, where students develop new skills by being engaged in community service projects.
