Summer Enrichments...
Camp Costa
offers an affordable,
fun-filled, educational summer program for children ages
five to twelve reinforcing the gains made during the
school year. The program was created in response
to parents voicing their concern for available,
affordable, quality summer activities for their children
offered in the neighborhood. The
children are able to practice skills learned during the
school year in the non-academic setting of camp.
Working in partnership with the schools, activities are
planned in order to focus on specific academic skills.
The
program includes the following components:

hours/day intensive academic enrichment for targeted
at-risk students entering grades 1-5, based on their
Developmental Reading Assessment score and homeroom
teacher recommendation. |

Extra time-on-task with real-life applications of
reading, writing, language arts and mathematics
skills: Emailing active military; writing to pen
pals; and ongoing support to
complete summer reading assignment. |
|
|
Sports, arts & crafts, weekly trips to area beaches
for swimming, weekly field trips, special guests
such as Navy firefighter magician and athletes. |
